I’m a victim to the day that is crawling beyond me,
And to the thoughts I have felt this day plan out.
Strangers lurk, but nobody can find her.
I’m the only one who knows what she’s all about.
The chill and the thrill are what children fear.
Still, the night isn’t the only time she plays.
I reach out to grab her and I feel her aura.
Her laughter greets me with memories from my early days.
As I sit here and question what she really wants,
I jump when I feel a breeze kiss my shoulder.
The day has given me a glimpse at what she needs:
She’s just a forgotten child that wants me to hold her.
So, I will…
